When our ladies join us at Bliss, we always encourage them to listen to what their body needs – especially when it comes to food. Women are often taught that for food to be healthy it must fit into a certain diet plan, but here at Bliss we have a different belief, we believe that the meaning of healthy food is what nourishes both our bodies and our emotions. Mindful eating focuses more on how the foods make you feel.
Following restrictive diets can be emotionally fatiguing which is why we don’t want our ladies to deny themselves of any food when they are at Bliss, especially the treats of our Balinese cuisine! Our women always ask us how we create such a great balance between indulgence and nutrition in our dishes, and we know it’s down to the sourcing of our amazing fresh ingredients.
Here are some food items we love at Bliss:
Avocado
Many of our dishes feature avocados which are known for their density and creamy taste. Avocados are packed with healthy fats, making them a super unique fruit. The good fats found in avocados are essential to a healthy diet, and their huge array of nutrients make them an incredible addition to salads, smoothies and on top of whole-wheat toast.
Curry
One thing our ladies always comment on are how amazing our curries are. Curry can have a bad reputation, but at Bliss we want to change that! Our fresh filling curries are packed with incredible healing spices and amazing Balinese flavours and can be served with a side of green beans and garlic – these heart-warming meals leave both the body and taste buds completely satisfied.
Coconut
Another versatile ingredient we love at Bliss is the coconut. We use coconut for a huge variety of tasty delights. Ladies at our sanctuaries can sip on coconut water straight from the fruit by the pool or enjoy freshly cut slices of the white kernel in a salad or as a snack. Coconuts are high in magnesium, copper and iron – which help to boost metabolism, increase bone health and encourage our bodies to produce antioxidants. We can’t get enough of our creamy tropical cyclone smoothie, which mixes coconut cream, bananas and mangoes for a gorgeously thick, cooling treat.
Bananas
Banana pancakes are a breakfast favourite in our sanctuaries, both with our staff and our lovely ladies. Bananas are an amazing morning energy booster and are jam-packed with heart-healthy potassium, which makes for a great morning pick-me-up. Combining the bananas with fresh pancakes are a sure winner for us, and we recommend cutting through the sweetness with a splash of fresh lime juice.
At Bliss delectable food options are available around the clock and are unlimited for our lovely ladies. Even when our chefs get their own much needed rest, our kitchens are stocked with fresh fruit, yoghurt, whole-wheat breads and plentiful options for our ladies to enjoy at their own pleasure. We also know that while our menu dishes taste dreamy, comforting favourites are personal, which is why we are always happy to do everything we can to create dishes our ladies ask for.
We wanted to share our Bliss experience as far as it can go and so we created Bliss News.
