It doesn’t come as a surprise that Bali has been voted the number one destination in Asia and the fifth best destination in the world to visit in the 2019 TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choice Awards! We are super proud and blessed to live and work on such an amazing island and are delighted that travellers who use the TripAdvisor website have praised the island for its luscious beaches, emerald landscapes, beautiful culture and spirituality.
As quoted by TripAdvisor, “Bali is a living postcard, an Indonesian paradise that feels like a fantasy. Soak up the sun on a stretch of fine white sand, or commune with the tropical creatures as you dive along coral ridges or the colourful wreck of a WWII war ship. On shore, the lush jungle shelters stone temples and mischievous monkeys. The “artistic capital” of Ubud is the perfect place to see a cultural dance performance, take a batik or silver-smithing workshop, or invigorate your mind and body in a yoga class.”
There are endless things for visitors to experience in Bali such as visiting incredible waterfalls, lush forests, and it’s a great spot for divers.
Here are just some of the many reasons we LOVE Bali:
Amazing beaches and surf spots
Bali is home to some of the best beaches and surfing spots in the world, with gorgeous white sandy coast lines on the south of the island such as Kuta, Nusa Dua and Sanur, to the cliff-guarded ‘hidden’ shores of Uluwatu, Padang Padang, Dreamland and Bingin. Bali also has an assortment of secret bays with the ultimate surf waves - paradise!
Gorgeous food
If you’re looking to experience some amazing food, Bali is the place for you! Not only is Indonesian food incredibly tasty, vibrant and full of flavour, it's also cheap as chips. There are so many options to choose from local food markets offering Bali cuisine, to high end restaurants, to quirky coffee shops and vegan cafes. If you're a Bali beginner try beef rendang, nasi goreng, nasi campur, chicken satay and Gado Gado.
Ancient temples
Bali is a religious destination with Balinese Hinduism being the form of Hinduism practiced by the majority of the population of Bali. Religious traditions are rooted in the people and there are many beautiful traditional temples to visit. Some of the few we love are the Ulun Danu Beratan temple (the floating temple), Tanah Lot, Uluwatu temple, located in a high cliff top, and Tirta Empul.
Beautiful nature
Everywhere you look in Bali you will be greeted with lush waterfalls, mountainous jungle ranges, soaring volcanoes, evergreen rice paddies, fresh water streams, monkey temples, hidden cliff face beaches, infinity pools – the list goes on.
Wellness heaven
For the wellness seeker, there’s no other place like Bali on earth. It’s renowned for its yoga and healing nature, and Balinese therapists are currently the most sought-after spa professionals worldwide! Whether you’re looking for a relaxing massage, a gorgeous flower bath, Bali is the ideal wellness location. It’s an amazing place to focus your mind, body and soul, which is one of the many reasons we chose to set up our luxury Bliss sanctuaries in Bali.
