As such a tiny business in the scheme of things & the huge growth of the female focussed wellness travel industry, I am so proud of us that we have lasted over 15 years & still win multiple global awards year after year!
Now the expectations are higher.
It’s harder to engage friends or family to support you via social media as they have seen it all before & don’t think you need their support (We DO!)
Past guests have been wonderful & thank you to all who have voted & so many of you becoming returning guests. And those who simply love what we do.
I think people forget we are a very small, small business!
We are not one of these retreats with 30+ people coming to learn something. Or a large hotel with hundreds of rooms or even a small hotel with 10 rooms!
Our largest sanctuaries have 5 rooms! Yes FIVE. I have kept our sanctuaries small on purpose so we can truly focus on all of our guests individually & connect with you in ways other larger establishments or traditional retreats just can't.
Smaller sanctuaries means smaller turnover and yet we excel year after year on service & offerings and I am so thankful to each and every one of our staff who put their hearts & souls into everything they do & every person they meet.
Of course this is different for everybody & the personal experience is different for everybody because you are all different. And we are humans having an authentic human experience.
We are not big industry. We are not automated where you become a number. You are not just one small part of a big group.
You are welcomed, you are met with love & openness, we are here for you & our staff connect with many of you in a personal way.
I’m not sure people realise how difficult this is to do!
For all of our staff & managers doing this day after day with different personalities & women with different backgrounds & experiences & expectations from all around the world. Many have been with me over 10 + years, actually most! And we still have original employees with me since year one!
And they STILL open themselves up with love. Even if having a bad day or not 100% on their A game.
In the background there are so many of us working to provide seamless support for all of our staff to ensure this happens in the best way possible for everybody visiting. Not as in tight scheduling & group activities to keep everyone busy … but person to person with our management & staff mentoring & supporting so they can support you.
We ensure our staff feel seen & valued & supported & celebrated & acknowledged & loved. This is the only way to have & feel this authentically from our staff to you.
I am so proud of them for this.
The authentic human element of any business is arguably the hardest most engaging & satisfying part. And it is certainly what we seem to be seeing less & less of in the world of business.
So when you see the nominations & awards we have won, or the opportunity to vote. Please know these did not come easy.
And even though we have won so many in the past, please know that it gets harder year after year to reach the increasing expectations & to reach people to actually vote for us.
So THANKYOU for all of you that have taken those few minutes to do something so amazing for us.
