We recently welcomed the amazing mum of Lydia Bright and mum to many, Debbie Bright to our new Ubud sanctuary at Bliss.
Debbie is well known in the UK for appearing alongside her famous daughter on the ITV series The Only Way Is Essex.
Debbie is an inspiration to us all, aside from raising her three beautiful daughters Lydia, Georgia and Roma, and son Freddie, Debbie has fostered over 250 children from all around the world.
Debbie and her daughters were invited to our new sanctuary in Ubud to take some much-needed rest and relaxation in order to refill their cups. She explained to the team at Bliss: “To be here with my daughters is truly a blessing within our chaotic lives. The world is going so fast, like a rollercoaster going around and around, I just needed to get off for a moment.”
The trip comes at the peak of Debbie’s wedding planning, as Debbie and her partner of 40 years, Dave, have finally decided to tie the knot this year after a recent health scare and the couple realised it’s never too late to get married.
Debbie said in an interview with HELLO magazine: “I always worry about what everyone else wants – and there’s always something else to plan. But I feel like it’s our time to do something for ourselves now.”
We are so glad that after years of looking after other people with her beautiful and kind soul, Debbie is taking time for herself, and spent 10 days of indulging in unlimited spa treatments, massages, sightseeing, gorgeous food and yoga at Bliss. Debbie even managed to get stuck into reading a book – a rarity some of us just don’t make time for when life gets busy.
Talking about her Bliss experience Debbie explained: “It’s been an amazing experience but more than anything I’ve learnt so much about self-importance.”
“Sometimes in life you need space and silence, I have not had tranquillity to reflect for a moment on all the loss I have faced over the last few months. I have fallen in love with the spirituality you can feel all around you. I love that at Bliss they focus on following your bliss and what bliss means to you, it’s all about finding the freedom to love yourself and spending time doing what you love most. Thank you @blisssanctuaryforwomen you have saved me.”
It was amazing and filled our hearts to see Debbie and her daughters having such a wonderful time and relaxing holiday, we are sure will stay in their memories. We admire the work Debbie does with children and are so happy she took some time out for herself and left Bliss feeling refreshed and ready to get back to wedding planning and looking after her foster children.
Refilling your cup is so important and this is one of our key messages we hope all women, whether they are a mum or not, take note of. Even if you can’t come to Bliss, we hope women start taking more time out for themselves in any way they can.
We wanted to share our Bliss experience as far as it can go and so we created Bliss News. Even if you can’t go on a beautiful personalised Women’s Retreat right now, we hope you can take the time to add a bit more bliss to your life in whatever way you choose. Self love comes in all different shapes and sizes but the one thing it has in common is that it starts with you. We hope some of our ideas and laughs and wellness retreat additions are something you can incorporate into your everyday life... love Zoë xxx
