We know that for some ladies taking part in fitness activities can be their idea of finding Bliss, but for others it’s the complete opposite. And while you may want to just relax and chill out by the pool to feel re-centred and rejuvenated, we also believe in the power of exercise for a healthy mind and healthy body too. We all know that exercising has many benefits such as releasing stress, increasing energy levels and giving you a positivity boost.
We offer a range of activities at Bliss including many low impact and relaxing ways to get moving such as stretching and building strength with yoga and Pilates sessions, swimming in the ocean or in our gorgeous pools, or going on our Eco Bike Tour adventure. These activities are designed to be light and relaxing for our wonderful ladies while still providing them with all the amazing benefits.
Ladies who do try our activities at Bliss say that it has huge benefits on their mental wellbeing, and here we have listed some of the reasons why a healthy body can lead to a healthy mind:
It Promotes Healthy Brain Activity
Exercise helps to endorse healthy changes in the brain which reduces inflammation and creates new activity patterns within our brains. These activity patterns promote feelings of calm and wellbeing, which are great for helping to combat low mood and stress.
It Gives Us Better Sleep
Even short bursts of exercise can help to regulate our sleeping patterns.
For those ladies who enjoy a high-intensity workout, exercising in the morning is best and means that your body is ready for a restful night’s sleep.
We also recommend an evening yoga session to stretch out the muscles and unwind for an incredible night’s sleep.
It Releases Endorphins
Endorphins are the chemicals in our brains that make us feel happy – and exercise releases this feel-good chemical to energise our spirits. Endorphins are key in helping us to radiate positivity and think with an optimistic attitude.
It Helps to Reduce Anxiety
Although our gorgeous ladies at Bliss will be worlds away from anxiety while they’re staying with us, we know that it’s not always the case once they get home. Exercise can help with anxiety as it provides a distraction from overthinking or negative thinking, as well as releasing any anxiety related tension in your body.
Regular exercise and physical activity are an investment in the mind, body and soul. Making exercise a habit can help increase our self-worth, giving us all strength and power. The sense of achievement from exercise is a mood booster alone, and that’s before all the incredible physical benefits it can have to our bodies!
